Under the new requirements introduced in Pilbara Ports Marine Safety Bulletin PH 02/26, effective 1 May 2026, vessels calling at the Port of Port Hedland are required to comply with machinery space inspection standards. In view of this, RightShip will be able to conduct Pilbara Ports-specific machinery inspections.
About the Service
Under Pilbara Ports Marine Safety Bulletin PH 02/26, vessels calling at Port Hedland may be required to undergo a machinery physical inspection where Pilbara Ports’ trigger criteria are met. RightShip can conduct these Pilbara Ports-specific machinery inspections using a dedicated inspection template approved by Pilbara Ports.
Inspection reports are issued as PDFs and distributed to both Pilbara Ports and the vessel’s Owners and Managers.
From 1 May 2026, Pilbara Ports-specific machinery inspections are available in Singapore, China, and Korea, with the possibility of expansion to additional locations based on demand and inspector availability.
How to Request an Inspection
To request a Pilbara Ports-specific machinery inspection, please email dryinspections@rightship.com with a minimum of seven days’ lead time. Please include the following:
- Vessel name and IMO number
- Estimated arrival date at Port Hedland
- Requested date of inspection
- Length of time at berth or anchor
- Agent name and contact details
- Master name and contact details
- Technical Manager name and contact details
Where timing permits, Owners and Managers may request that a Pilbara Ports-specific machinery inspection be conducted concurrently with a RightShip RISQ Inspection, reducing the need for a separate inspector visit to the vessel. Please indicate this preference at the point of booking. RightShip will advise during the planning process whether concurrent scheduling can be accommodated.
