On 20th January 2026, while proceeding on her southbound voyage from Europe to Levant, the CMA CGM TIGA faced unexpectedly strong weather conditions off Malta and suffered loss at sea of 58 containers. Furthermore, some additional containers have been reported damaged on the vessel deck.
No injury to the crew has been reported, and no strong damage to the vessel which remains fully seaworthy. The initial information indicates that no lost containers at sea contained dangerous goods. CMA CGM immediately notified the relevant authorities and will proceed to Malta to make a thorough assessment of the situation and take the appropriate measures to ensure a safe prosecution of the voyage.
CMA CGM organization will contact customers impacted by the incident individually and grant its best assistance forward.
