In response to the recent announcement of a change in pilotage services by GLPA, please be advised that the Seaway continues to be open for business and continues to accept transits until the cut-off times defined in the special agreements. The CCG is providing ice breaking services in the South Shore Canal to ensure traffic is moving, and the Seaway is working to maintain lock chambers free from ice impacts to facilitate lockages.
MLO Section cut off times for acceptance of last ships remain:
- Upbound: 02:00 Jan 4 at CIP2 (as well as for ships leaving port within the system)
- Downbound: 06:00 Jan 4 at Cape Vincent Clear U.S. Locks by 23:59 Jan 4
- Clear of MLO Section by 12:00 Jan 5 WELLAND CANAL cut off times for acceptance of last ships remain:
- Upbound: 20:00 Jan 9 at CIP15 Downbound: 20:00 Jan 9 at CIP16 Clear of Welland Canal by 12:00 Jan
