The NATO Shipping Centre issued a reccomendation to mariners following a series of drone strikes against unladen tankers in the Black Sea on November 28 and 29.

The advisory reads as below

The NATO Shipping Centre is aware of the attacks against unladen tankers in the Black Sea on 28 and 29 November 2025. As these attacks pose serious risks to the safety of navigation, life at sea, and the marine environment in the region, Masters and operators are advised to continue to consult Best Management Practices – Maritime Security (BMP MS) for guidance on threats and recommended mitigating measures.

Vessels observing suspicious behaviour or security incidents are encouraged to report promptly to the NATO Shipping Centre by telephone on +44 1923-956574 or by email at info@shipping.nato.int.
