JMIC Overview
Over the past month there were two serious attacks and one suspicious event. These events included the loss of life and sinking of two vessels. Additionally, the Houthis issued two media announcements. On July 27, Houthis announced Phase IV operations and then on 28 July cited one company as being identified for breaching the ban of vessels conducting business within Israeli ports. The original Houthis Blockade announcement was 19 May 2025.


Highlights
Arabian Gulf (AG) / Strait of Hormuz (SoH) / Gulf of Oman (GoO): Maritime Threat LOW
• Thethreat remains LOW to merchant traffic
• Electronic interference remains SEVERE, more especially in the vicinity of the SoH.
• Multiple events of patrol craft hailing merchant vessels in the central Arabian Gulf to include shadowing for up to 20-minutes (CPA of 20 meters) were reported. No threatening communication noted.

Red Sea (RS) / Bab al-Mandeb (BaM) / Gulf of Aden (GoA): Maritime Threat SEVERE
• MV MAGIC SEAS and ETERNITY C were attacked by the Houthis. Both vessels sunk in the southern Red Sea. MV MAGIC SEAS crew were rescued while some crew of the ETERNITY C were rescued, taken hostage, missing or deceased
