Today, 24 July, the UK government has made administrative amendments to the designation of 1 entity and the specification of 1 ship, both sanctioned under the Russia sanctions regime.

As per UK LITASCO MIDDLE EAST DMCC is an involved person under the Russia (Sanctions) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019 based on the ground that LITASCO MIDDLE EAST DMCC is and has been involved in obtaining a benefit from or supporting the Government of Russia by carrying on business in a sector of strategic significance to the Government of Russia, namely the Russian energy sector.

Regarding the Oil Tanker the reason is said to be that IMO 9301421 (VICTOR KONETSKY) is involved in activity whose object or effect is to destabilise Ukraine or undermine or threaten the territorial integrity, sovereignty or independence of Ukraine or to obtain a benefit from or support the Government of Russia. Namely, IMO 9301421 is involved in carrying oil or oil products that originated in Russia from Russia to a third country.
