Suez Canal authority released a Circular No. (3/2025) announcing 15 % rebate to the Container vessels transiting the Suez Canal. As per the circular due to the request and improved security condition in Red Sea SCA has decided as below:
1) Laden or Ballast “Containerships” of Suez Canal Net Tonnage 130,000 Tons or above, transiting the Suez Canal (Northbound or Southbound) are granted a rebate of 15% upon transit..
2) The aforementioned rebate percentage is only calculated from (normal transit dues stipulated by the transit dues table + surcharges levied on tiers of containers).
3) The aforementioned Suez Canal Net Tonnage refers to the basic Suez Canal Net Tonnage without any additions temporary added upon transit (e.g. Double Bottom Tanks, temporary stores …etc.).
4) The aforementioned rebate is directly granted upon transit without the need to submit any requests or documents.
This circular is applicable to “Containerships” transiting the Suez Canal starting from 15 May 2025, and for a period of 90 days.
