Sea of Maritime Insights

The Equasis team hereby announces the conclusion of Brazilian Maritime Authority formal participation in the Supervisory Committee and its contribution to the Equasis project, effective as of 1 January 2026.

For twelve years, Brazil has taken part in the Equasis project with commitment, professionalism, and a shared belief in the importance of transparency, safety, and responsibility within the global maritime sector. As Brazil now withdraws from the initiative, Equasis marks this moment with appreciation for the collective achievements that have shaped more than a decade of collaboration.

Brazil’s participation strengthened the project’s ability to promote open access to maritime safety information and foster a culture of accountability across the international fleet. By contributing data, expertise, and institutional support, Brazil helped broaden the global reach of Equasis and reinforce its role as a trusted information platform for shipowners, regulators, and maritime professionals around the world.

This exchange enriched the global understanding of maritime operations in the South Atlantic and highlighted Brazil’s important position within regional and international shipping networks.

As Brazil steps away from formal participation, its legacy remains embedded in the project’s evolution. The knowledge shared, the partnerships formed, and the commitment demonstrated will continue to influence the ongoing pursuit of safer seas and more transparent maritime practices.

Equasis extends its sincere thanks to Brazil for its long-standing dedication, constructive engagement, and valuable contributions.
