United Against Nuclear Iran (UANI) applauds President Trump and his administration for last week’s designations targeting entities and vessels involved in the illicit transport of Iranian oil and petrochemicals.

Seven of these vessels — AL SAFA (IMO 9222649), AQUA LIFE (IMO 9282792), BENEDICT (IMO 9293155), OCEAN GUARDIAN (IMO 9267948), VETER (IMO 9233739), VICSCENE (IMO 9290775), and ZEVS (IMO 9168946) — were previously listed on UANI’s Ghost Armada, a large network of tankers suspected of covertly transporting Iranian crude oil and petroleum products in violation of international sanctions.

UANI CEO Mark D. Wallace stated:

“These sanctions demonstrate that the Trump administration remains vigilant in disrupting the Iranian regime’s illicit oil trade, which funds its nuclear, missile, and drone programs, as well as Tehran’s domestic repression. We commend President Trump for continuing to dismantle the networks behind the Ghost Armada and urge partners and allies around the world to follow suit by denying these deceptive vessels access to ports, insurance, and global trade services.”

UANI’s Tanker Tracker program continues to monitor and expose the Iranian regime’s sanctions evasion activities, working closely with governments and industry partners to prevent the financing of malign behavior through oil smuggling.
