Gibraltor Maritime Administration issued a Shipping Guidance Notice (SGN) to bring to the attention of Gibraltar registered vessels stakeholders IMO Resolution MSC.532(107), which under amendments to SOLAS Chapter V, Regulation 19.2.12 bring into effect mandatory requirements in respect of containerships and bulk carriers of 3,000 gross tonnage and upwards constructed on or after 1 January 2026, to be fitted with an electronic inclinometer, or other means, to determine, display and record the ship’s roll motion.
