Container vessel “Kyparissia” caught fire while she was discharging the cargo. It is said that fire followed a explosion around noon time today. This incident highlights the dangers of fires after a series of incidents this year on container vessel.

In the fire and explosion, its reported that 3 person lost thier life and also few are injured. The dead/injured personnel are crew or shore people is not clear.

The shore fire fighters are assisting the vessel for containing the fire. The vessel is registered in Malta and Charted to Maersk.
