Mariners are advised that Lock 1 will be closed for two ten-hour periods for the removal of the unwatering gates at the lower end of the lock. Please note that the bumpers may be removed for work on the gates. Mariners are to exercise caution and avoid the walls when the bumpers are removed. Refer to photos below.
The following is the planned schedule of activities:
- Oct 27 – Lock #1 closed from 08:00 to 18:00 to remove first unwatering gate
- Oct 29 – Lock #1 closed from 08:00 to 18:00 to remove second unwatering gate
