During a routine onboard inspection at Nakhodka, PSC officer discovered numerous technical violations, leading to the vessel’s detention until the deficiencies were rectified. During the inspection, the crew failed to inform the inspector of wage arrears, even though by that point the sailors had not received their wages for two and a half months. Only when the decision was being made to lift the ban on leaving the port did the sailors disclose the payment issue. By order of the Nakhodka Port Master on September 16, 2025, following the crew’s complaint regarding unpaid wages, the ban on leaving the port was extended until the labor dispute was resolved.
Furthermore, the captain of the m/v Fu Run Da 1 called the Far Eastern Regional Organization of the Russian Seafarers’ Union (RSU) asking for assistance in collecting unpaid wages. Representatives of the FERO RUSU contacted their colleagues from the Indonesian and Chinese Seafarers’ Unions, asking them to contact the shipowner to clarify the circumstances of the unpaid wages.
As a result of all the actions taken, the debt to the sailors was repaid. Chairman of the Far Eastern Branch of the Russian Union of Seafarers, Nikolai Sukhanov, announced that the ban on the m/v Fu Run Da 1 leaving the port was lifted.
On behalf of the crew, the ship’s captain expressed gratitude to the port authorities of Nakhodka and the Russian Seafarers’ Union for their assistance in obtaining wages.
