Liberia Maritime Authority issued Security Bulletin 102025 giving the details of drone attack on carg vessel at Izmail port in Ukraine. As per the bulletin Masters of all Liberian flagged vessels in the Ports of Ukraine shall raise security level to 3 and implement specific protective measures in the ship security plan and acknowledge receipt of the instruction on change of security level.
On 01 September, a cargo vessel was moored for discharging operations at the Ukrainian port of Izmail in position 45-20.20N 028-47.5E when the Master reported that vessel was under drone attack. The port facility sounded an air raid signal, and the crew were able to safely disembark the vessel and head to the terminal shelter on shore for safety. Following the attack, the crew was able to conduct a preliminary investigation and determined that damage was dealt to the ship’s hull, deck machinery and other ship’s equipment but no injuries to crew members reported. The vessel is scheduled to relocate to a shipyard for permanent repairs.
