The Beirut Port Authority has issued a statement addressing recent concerns regarding its operations, emphasizing that services remain uninterrupted and accessible to stakeholders.

The authority clarified that its cashier services do not close at 1 p.m., as reported, noting that payments can be made through four accredited banks in addition to an online payment platform. It stressed that the cashier has never been an obstacle to completing transactions.

Regarding previous technical issues linked to the “Najm” and “Cama” systems, the port confirmed that all malfunctions have been fully resolved. Some devices were upgraded, and system updates remain ongoing to ensure smoother operations.

The statement also explained that any delays affecting the unloading of containers from vessels were only charged at a symbolic rate of USD 25, far below the actual costs involved.

The port authority urged stakeholders who encounter issues to file written complaints through the designated submission channel to allow for timely resolution, rather than resorting to unfounded accusations.

Reaffirming its commitment, the Beirut Port Authority stated it remains dedicated to facilitating operations and delivering the highest quality services to all users.
