Fully cellular container Vessel Phoenix 15, IMO: 8357667, built 2009 with 20 crew members on board, sank, approximately 20 nautical miles southeast of Salalah’s coast, Oman on 21st June 2025.

The Maritime Security Centre announced that all 20 crew members were rescued following the incident. The sinking prompted an immediate response, and all crew members were successfully rescued by the nearby commercial vessel Gulf Baraka, which was in the vicinity when the distress alert was received.

As per AIS data vessel sailed out from Jebel Ali on 18th June in fully loaded condition and had arrived at Salala on 20th Late PM. Appears that vessel anchored and then sailed out from the anchorage and last AIS position was recd on 21st around 0212 Hrs GMT. Prior this vessel was making way through with speed of around 5 knots in southerly direction.
