MSC Elsa 3 which developed heavy list of 26 degrees on 24th May 2025 around 38 NM off Kochi, capsized early morning today.

Indian Coast Guard had rescued all crew members except Master, Chief Engineer and 2nd Engineer on 24th May. These three person remained onboard to assist planned salvage operation.

Early morning of 25th, the vessel capsized rapidly due flooding of one of the hold. The onboard Master and other 2 crew abandoned the vessel and were rescued by INS Sujata.

As per update from coast guard, all crew are safe and ICG is conducting assessment of the situation and issuing advisory to state authorities accordingly.
