This may be noted that due to the increasing importance of the availability of reliable data for the parties in the maritime industry and also to cope up with the demand from the third parties, specifically for the Flag States and the Recognised Organization (RO) to be able to analyse the Port State Control data, the Indian Ocean Memorandum of Understanding (IOMOU) on Port State Control Committee had decided to share its PSC data to the Non-member Flag States and Recognised Organization, during its 26th
Committee Meeting .
The PSC Data Sharing Module is now available on www.iomou.org under option “Our Work”, along with its procedure ( Indian Ocean Memorandum of Understanding on Port State Control.)
Willing Non-member Flag States and the Recognised Organization, has to make a written request to the IOMOU Secretariat. Sample request letter is provided in the procedure.
After scrutinising the request letter and completing the internal procedure, the Secretariat will provide login details, through which the Flag States and the Recognised Organization will be able to download the PSC Data in the XML format for the previous three years and current year.
This is a part of the work of the Indian Ocean MOU to strengthen its role in the chain of responsibility within the industry in order to improve maritime safety, pollution prevention and seafarers’ working and their living conditions.
