Paris MOU released a press release expressing concern over fire doors basis the result of CIC on Fire Safety, which was held from 1 September to 30 November 2023.

These results were shared with the industry. Overall, compliance appeared to be satisfactory, however the result was less favourable on two specific topics; good working condition of fire doors (9.3% non-compliance) and fire drills (9.2% non-compliance).

As part of the ongoing investigation into possible efficiency improvements regarding inspection campaigns, the member Authorities of the Paris MoU held an unannounced Focused Inspection Campaign (FIC) on fire doors from 1 to 28 July 2024.

The findings of this FIC raise concerns for the Paris MoU, as 13.9% of non-compliance was recorded. Of this 13.9%, 30% was considered to be a lack of implementation of the ISM Code.
