JSW Raigad had sent distress signal after the vessel wend aground close to Indian coast near Kolaba Fort in heavy weather on 25th July. Due to rocky shores at Kolaba fort, Indian coast guard vessel were unable to approach the vessel.

On 26th July, The Indian Coast Guard launched a daring operation early this morning to evacuate the crew from the stranded vessel. The coast guard had no option but to resort to air operation due severe and weather and adverse conditions.

All 14 crew members were evacuated by a Coast Guard helicopter and safely disembarked at Alibag beach.

Vessel was reported to be stable when crew sent the distress alert, as per initial information 15 crew were said to be onboard, however it appears that there were total 14 nos crew onboard who all are safely evacuated and brought to Alibag, a beach destination in Maharashtra State of India.
